Las Vegas is renowned for shopping, gambling and dining and tourists from all over the world visit such a lavish place. The city lies in the Nevada state and has popular setting for films and television. It has a Fremont street which displays lightning shows to the tourists. One can find number of casinos in Las Vegas strip and the strip is an arid land surrounded by mountains. As the land is dry, there is a shortage of water in Las Vegas and thus extreme measures are taken to encourage xeriscapes. The climate is almost sunny throughout the year in the city and thus humidity is very low.Initially Vegas city consist of only Mirage Hotel and Casino which opened in 1989. Due to limited casinos in the city, the tourism was not that good for Las Vegas.
Recently, the city started new projects and developments were taken into consideration. As new hotels and casinos were developed in the southern part of the city, tourist started visiting the place for excitement. Today, Las Vegas strip has more than ten casinos and it is known as "Lightning City" of the world. There are some surrounding cities such as Henderson, Paradise, Enterprise, Sunrise Manor, Spring Valley, Boulder City and Coyote Springs.
